Committee Meeting
Good day Heritage Month Volunteers! We had a successful planning meeting today.
An overview.
We discussed events, the following events are planned:
11/2 Beartooth Film: There was no film committee member present at the meeting today, however we know things are happening. Please send information about the film to Shyanne Beatty @ sbeatty@knba.org
11/3 Heritage Center Reception: Tentatively planned from 6pm to 7:30pm to be followed by a showing of the film "The Rights of All" and to be mceed by Shyanne Beatty. Details to follow. Event contact: Steven Alverez - Heritage Center SAlvarez@alaskanative.net
11/6 First Friday Gallery Events: Times to be announces. Event contact: Gretchen Sagan gretchensagan@hotmail.com

ASD Culture in the Schools: All through out the month. Elders, Artists and Community members making presentations in the schools. Digital copies of curriculum book available soon. Heritage Month Program Liaison - Josephine Edwards-Vollertsen - edwards-vollertsen-j@asdk12.org
Other Events discussed:
Thea Lawton discussed a possible event centered around the book Growing Up Native.
Marva Watson will provide event information for things going on at UAA.
Shyanne Beatty is working on a media/recording/interactive event.
Amy Loyd discussed family discussion hosts at the CITC through her program.
